see an old west town type setting. You will walk to pay and while
waiting at the admissions booth there is a miniature goat, sheep & dog (all
miniatures) waiting to greet you. See fallow deer, peacock, parrot, wild
turkeys, snow monkeys, a wallaby, pot belly pig, ring tailed lemurs &
hundreds of miniature ponies and a number of other animals for kids. This
place is even a must see for the adults. If you are looking to
purchase a miniature horse they do have them for sale. Very worthwhile stop. |

This is a real hidden jewel
of a find for us. This place is a forgotten parrots dream. These folks have
close to a hundred parrots that they are taking care of and offer a really
educational tour and talk about parrots. You even get a few pictures with
these birds on your shoulder. The topics range from how breeders and
smugglers have almost made wild parrots extinct from illegally smuggling
these birds into countries that will pay big money for them and then after a
few years the new owners forget about the novelty of owning these incredible
birds and how they live a miserable life without the attention that
they need. Stop by here and learn more about these great birds and help
these people keep this great service up and running. The admission price is
a steal. If you are coming here from Vancouver then a quick 10 minute trip
south to the first street off of hwy 97 will take you to this great place.
Have a look at their web page for directions.

The Kettle Valley Steam Railway offers
a unique 2 hour journey on one of British Columbia's few remaining fully operational steam
railways. Passengers enjoy a tour along a preserved ten-kilometre section of the original
Kettle Valley Railway constructed between 1910 and 1915. The locomotive, a 1924 Shay steam
engine, pulls two 1950's passenger coaches and the Kettle and Valley Kars (open air).
Friendly, informative guides bring the history of the railway alive as the train chugs
along hillsides overlooking beautiful Okanagan orchards and vineyards.

The "Silver Sage" is only
minutes to the Burrowing Owl. They use fruits, herbs & vegetables in
their wines for really unique, amazing & different tasting wines. This
is one of our favourite wineries at the south end of the valley. One
visit here and you will be coming back for years. |
 |
The
"Burrowing Owl" is 2 hours south of us in Oliver. Their red
wine is so good it has sold out for 2003 and some varieties have sold
out for 2004. Their white wines are great tasting also. It is a little
higher in price but it is an excellent quality wine.
They also offer a
very romantic restaurant with excellent food. You can still purchase a
glass of their red wine to try with meals. We would definitely recommend
you plan to visit here. |

five-hour scenic family rail excursion, departs from Kelowna every Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
from July 6 to October 12. Kelowna's premiere tourist attraction is a scenic, nostalgic,
leisurely, romantic and entertaining journey on board an original Super Continental
cross-country passenger train through Canada's scenic Okanagan Valley in British Columbia.
The handsomely restored railcars make a round-trip north from Kelowna, traveling through
two valleys, along three lakes, through the middle of a golf course, and past countless
farms and orchards. To further enhance the trip, local wines are offered for sale on
board, complemented with full bar service. |
